94 was a one year deal that the frame came with a bolt on cable guide "tower" that bolted on the brake bridge to use v brakes.ĩ4-95 is when the PK went from 1" threaded forks to 1 1/8" threadless forks (have never pinned it down)Ĩ5-97 used the gray drip style decals. This is a one year only frame that had cable guides on both the top and down tube.ĩ4-99= canti mounts only with cable guides on the top tube. Std and XL ran from 87-99.ĩ3= pitbull mounts AND first year for canti mounts. MRxxxx was used for the Mini Ripper.Ĩ7-92=had pitbull brake mounts and cable guides on the down tube, 87 was also the first year an XL was offered. these serials MEAN ABSOLUTELY NOTHING other than stating it is a PK Ripper. They used up all the 85 drops until they were gone which went into the new for 86 curved chainstay frames. This serial bled over into 1986 frames as all the dropouts were made, stamped with a serial and thrown in a big box on the welding table and dropouts were welded on each frame as it was built in the jig. As stated, PK serials from late 79 to 84 on the looptail frames told the year onlyįirst run of 79 PK had no serial including the round top tube frame.ġ985 switched to the sticktail and integrated seat post clamp and straight chainstays.
